Guide to Updating Your Address in SBI Account Online

State Bank of India (SBI) customers can update their contact address seamlessly to ensure an uninterrupted banking experience. Whether you're moving to a different city or relocating within the same locale, maintaining an up-to-date address with your bank is crucial.

It's important to note that, due to security protocols, you cannot change your address online in an SBI bank account. This must be done in person at your home branch with the necessary identification and address proof documents. Ensure you carry both originals and photocopies.

Begin by writing an application to the Branch Manager, stating your current address as per your passbook and requesting to update it to your new address. Attach copies of your KYC documents, as specified by the bank’s requirements.

When you reach the branch, ask for the Address Updating Form and carefully fill out the relevant sections to avoid errors. Attach this form and your KYC documents to your application.

Within 2-3 working days, you should receive a notification about the status of your address update.

Once you receive confirmation of a successful update, return to the branch and visit the Help Desk. Present your old passbook and request a new one with the updated address. Additionally, remember to ask for a new chequebook alongside the passbook.

By following these straightforward steps, you can effectively change your address in the State Bank of India records, ensuring future communications and transactions are accurately directed.
